The braking element consists of fixed and mobile disks immersed in a high viscosity fluid. The fluid, even when the unit is functioning dynamically, is always at atmospheric pressure, thereby eliminating risk of leakage. The exterior protection is assured by nickel plating and a stainless steel covering.
